| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse bears a bold multi-line Latin legend across the central field reading ESTADO DE CARTA GENA, meaning 'State of Cartagena', with the fractional denomination 1/2 inscribed at the top and the date 1812 at the bottom. The lettering is crudely hand-punched in large block capitals, arranged in four lines filling the field. A toothed or reeded border frames the entire reverse. The primitive typographic style is consistent with the emergency coinage produced by the short-lived independent State of Cartagena during the wars of independence. |
