Obverse description Draped bust of King Charles III facing right, rendered in the style of the Santiago Mint bust coinage. The legend CAROLUS·III·DEI·GRATIA encircles the effigy, running from the lower left around the upper field. The date appears in the exergue below the bust, flanked by small dots. The portrait features a laureate head with a truncated shoulder drapery characteristic of the Chilean milled coinage of this period.
