正面铭文 CAROLVS II REX ARAGON
背面描述 A diamond-shaped (lozenge) shield bearing the quartered arms of Majorca, featuring the distinctive vertical stripes of Aragon alongside the traditional Majorcan royal emblems. The shield is set centrally on the flan within a beaded inner circle, with the abbreviated Latin legend running around the periphery. The denomination mark appears to the left of the shield. The crude hammered production results in an irregular outline and variable depth of strike across the device.

附加信息

Carlos II inherited the Spanish throne at age three upon his father Philip IV's death in 1665, ruled under regency until 1675, and never exercised meaningful independent authority for the entirety of his thirty-five-year reign. His severe physical and cognitive disabilities — products of generations of Habsburg consanguinity — left governance effectively in the hands of a succession of favourites and foreign queens. Majorca, peripheral enough to escape close metropolitan scrutiny, struck coinage throughout this period under relatively loose supervision from Madrid.

The Cal#805 attribution places this within Calicó's exhaustive Spanish colonial typology. Surviving examples from Majorcan mints of this reign frequently show weak peripheral detail, a function of the island's aging screw-press equipment rather than post-mint wear.
