Reverse description A plain cross with seriffed terminals occupies the central field, dividing the reverse into four quadrants. The quadrants are alternately filled with the castles of Castile and the lions of León, forming the quartered arms of the Spanish Crown. A partial circular legend surrounds the design, largely off-flan due to the irregular cob planchet. The strike is typical of macuquina cob coinage, with characteristic flatness and irregular flan edges.
