Reverse description The denomination 1/2 REAL is inscribed in two lines at the center of the field, fully enclosed within an open laurel wreath tied at the base with a ribbon, with berry-laden branches and small floral ornaments punctuating the composition. The mint name BOGOTA is distributed in spaced capitals around the upper arc of the legend, while the assayer initials R. S. appear in the lower field flanking the wreath, each accompanied by a small dot. Small six-pointed floral or star ornaments are positioned at the left, right, and base of the wreath as decorative punctuation. The design is characteristic of the milled Republican coinage produced at the Bogotá Mint during the Nueva Granada period.
