Obverse lettering REPUBLICA MEXICANA
Reverse description A radiant Phrygian liberty cap occupies the upper field, emitting rays in all directions as the central device. Below, arranged along the lower portion of the field and in the exergue, appear the denomination, mint initial, date, assayer's initials, and the silver fineness expressed in the traditional Spanish dineros and granos system. The sparse field and clean layout are characteristic of the Mexican republic's half real coinage of this period.
