Obverse description The obverse is entirely occupied by a multi-line Arabic calligraphic legend in Thuluth script, filling the field from rim to rim without a central device. The inscription, arranged in flowing lines across the coin's surface, reads the full royal title and name of King Abd al-Aziz ibn Saud, founder of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The bold, deeply incised lettering is characteristic of the official Saudi coinage style of the 1930s, with no border beading or decorative elements other than the inscription itself.
