Obverse description Central field dominated by a large numeral '٥' (5) in Arabic-Indic script, serving as the countermark '65' punch applied to the coin. Surrounding the central numeral, dense Arabic calligraphic inscriptions in thuluth script fill the entire field, reading the royal titles and name of King Abd al-Aziz ibn Saud. The legends curve around the coin's circumference and through the inner field, with no border of beads visible. The overall style is characteristic of early Saudi Arabian coinage with tightly packed script leaving little open field.
