Obverse description Central field occupied by a multi-line Persian nastaliq inscription reading 'Sikka-yi Fath Ali Shah Khusraw Sahib Qiran' (the coin of Fath Ali Shah, King, Lord of the Auspicious Conjunction), boldly rendered in flowing calligraphic strokes distributed across the flan without a formal framing device. Decorative floral and dot motifs fill the interstitial spaces between letter forms, characteristic of Qajar hammered silver coinage. A beaded or dotted border follows the irregular periphery of the struck flan, reflecting the hand-struck nature of the issue.
