Reverse description Central field dominated by a large cross pattée within a plain inner circle, rendered in the tradition of the Portuguese cruzado type from which the Portugalöser denomination derives its name and standard of weight and fineness. The cross is boldly struck with clean, geometric arms filling the interior circle. A continuous Latin legend in raised lettering encircles the design between the inner beaded border and the outer rim, referencing the issuer's ducal and comital titles and explicitly stating that the coin was struck to Portuguese weight and fineness.
