Obverse description Veiled and diademed effigy of Queen Victoria facing left, her hair dressed with a coronet adorned with oak leaves and scrollwork. The truncation of the bust is plain. The date appears in the exergue below the portrait. A small mintmark 'H' appearing above the date on certain issues denotes striking at the Heaton and Sons Mint, Birmingham, England.
