| Reverse description | The bold fraction numeral 1/2 occupies the central field, enclosed within a raised beaded circle. The English circular legend CYPRUS HALF PIASTRE with the year of issue incorporated within the inscription runs between the beaded border and the outer milled rim, with raised pellets serving as word separators. The overall composition is plain and utilitarian, typical of British colonial bronze coinage of the period. |

Struck for circulation in Cyprus under British colonial administration, this series spans nearly a decade during which the island's political climate shifted considerably — the 1931 Cypriot revolt against British rule erupted just as the final coins of this type were being issued. Whether any of the 1931 mintage actually reached circulation before the uprising is an open question that colonial supply records have never fully resolved.
