Obverse description Central field displays the Cuban coat of arms, depicting a shield divided into three sections: the upper portion bears a rising sun over a landscape with mountains and sea, the lower left quadrant features diagonal stripes representing the Cuban flag, and the lower right quadrant shows a royal palm tree. The shield is surmounted by a Phrygian cap atop a pike, and flanked on either side by two furled national flags on staffs, the arrangement converging at the base. A row of five six-pointed stars is positioned along the lower rim. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE CUBA runs along the periphery, with five evenly spaced five-pointed stars punctuating the inscription.
