Reverse description A left-facing effigy of a Native American woman representing Liberty, her hair adorned and partially draped, occupies the central right portion of the field. To the left of the portrait, the denomination and weight inscription are arranged in two lines, with the date of issue appearing below. The design is attributed to Thomas Humphrey Paget and reflects a classical allegorical style consistent with mid-twentieth-century coinage.
