Obverse description Right-facing draped bust of John Wilkinson, iron master, rendered in high relief within a plain field. The portrait depicts the subject wearing a coat with a ruffled cravat and a powdered wig tied at the back, characteristic of late 18th-century English portraiture. The peripheral legend encircling the bust reads IOHN WILKINSON IRON MASTER, distributed evenly around the coin's circumference. The engraving is crisp and detailed, consistent with the work of Thomas Wyon, and the rim is defined by a raised border.
