(Translation: For the public good)
Reverse description At centre, the arms of the city of Coventry featuring an elephant and castle motif, a heraldic device long associated with the city. The legend COVENTRY HALFPENNY arcs above the central device. A noted variety detail places the left corner of the castle directly beneath the letter Y of COVENTRY. The design is boldly struck with clear separation of the heraldic elements, consistent with the standard of quality seen in the better Conder token issues of the 1790s.
