| Beschrijving voorzijde | Frontal crowned effigy of Robert I (the Bruce), depicted with a stylised face within a beaded inner circle. The king is shown holding a sceptre, rendered in the simplified, flat manner characteristic of early 14th-century Scottish hammered coinage. The legend, composed in uncial letterforms, runs clockwise around the periphery of the flan. The overall strike is typical of the period, with slight irregularity in the flan shape. |
