Obverse description Facing crowned bust of King Richard III rendered in the late medieval English hammered style, centrally positioned within a beaded inner circle. The king is depicted with a stylized crown surmounting his head, with rudimentary facial features characteristic of late 15th-century halfpenny coinage. The surrounding legend reads RICARD DI GRA REX, identifying the monarch by name and royal title, separated by a cross pattée at the start of the inscription. The overall flan is small and irregular, typical of hammered silver halfpennies of this reign.
