Obverse description A uniformed dragoon of the Queen's Bays regiment depicted in dynamic right-facing profile, mounted on a prancing horse with forelegs raised, the rider holding a lance or sword upright in the right hand. The figure occupies the central field against a plain ground line. The Latin legend PRO REGE ET PATRIA (For King and Country) arcs around the upper periphery, while the regimental designation QUEENS BAYS appears in straight lettering along the lower exergue.
