Obverse description A full-bodied elephant facing left occupies the central field, rendered in profile with considerable naturalistic detail including a raised trunk and visible tusks. The animal stands on a plain ground line. The peripheral legend reads * PIDCOCK'S *** EXHIBITION in raised Latin lettering, distributed around the upper and lower rim, separated by star ornaments. The overall style is consistent with late 18th-century English tradesman token engraving.
