Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of King George III facing right, with a ribbon tied at the nape of the neck and armor visible at the truncation. The effigy is rendered in a bold, if somewhat crude, style characteristic of the privately produced Machin's Mills coinage, closely imitating contemporary British regal halfpennies. The peripheral legend reads GEORGIVS III REX, distributed around the upper and right fields, with a toothed border encircling the design.
