| Descrizione del dritto | Crude facing bust of John as Lord of Ireland, rendered in the Romanesque style typical of late 12th-century Anglo-Irish coinage, centered within a beaded inner circle. The effigy displays a schematic frontal face with annulet eyes, a triangular nose rendered with pellets, and a stylized crown or diadem across the brow. Flowing hair falls to either side of the face in striated locks. The surrounding legend runs clockwise within the outer beaded border, naming the issuer in abbreviated Latin. |
