Obverse description At centre, a large, full-crowned crab apple tree in fruit with spreading branches dominates the field, its trunk rising from a heraldic shield placed at its base. The tree is rendered in fine relief, with individual fruits and foliage carefully detailed in the late 18th-century engraving style typical of Conder tokens. The encircling legend reads INDUSTRY LEADS TO HONOUR, arranged along the upper periphery within a beaded border.
