| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of a king facing right, closely imitating the portrait style of a genuine George III halfpenny, occupying the majority of the field. The peripheral legend reads GLORIOVS III · VIS, a deliberately garbled evasion of the standard royal titulature, characteristic of privately struck evasion tokens produced to circumvent the laws against counterfeiting.
