Descrizione del rovescio	A bold six-pointed star (hexagram) formed by two interlocking equilateral triangles dominates the reverse field, with the central round hole at its geometric centre. The legend 'BRITISH WEST AFRICA' curves along the upper periphery within a beaded border, while the date '1952' is inscribed in the lower exergual area flanked by two raised dots. The overall design is strongly geometric and symmetrical, rendered in clean raised lines against a flat bronze field.

Informazioni aggiuntive	British West Africa was not a single colony but an administrative grouping — the coinage served Nigeria, Gold Coast, Sierra Leone, and the Gambia simultaneously, a monetary arrangement that outlasted the political fiction holding it together. By 1952, independence movements in all four territories were accelerating, and this issue was struck just two years before the West African Currency Board began planning its own dissolution. The 1952 halfpenny is among the final bronze pieces of the series; cupro-nickel had already begun replacing bronze in other denominations.
