| Descrizione del dritto | Uncrowned effigy of King George VI facing left, rendered in high relief with naturalistic detail of the hair and facial features. The bare-headed portrait is the work of engraver Thomas Hugh Paget, whose initials HP appear truncated at the neck. The circular legend reads GEORGIVS VI D:G:BR:OMN:REX F:D:IND:IMP., distributed around the periphery of the coin. The rim is defined by a fine milled border of raised beads. The overall style reflects the restrained neoclassical tradition of British colonial coinage of the period. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | At the centre of the reverse, within a circle of raised beads, the denomination ONE HALF PENNY is inscribed in three horizontal lines above a plain ribbon scroll. Surrounding the inner bead circle, the legend COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA is distributed around the upper arc, with the date appearing in the lower arc flanked by ornamental stops. The design is simple and legible, consistent with the utilitarian character of Australian bronze coinage of the period. The rim is finished with a matching raised bead border. The overall composition is clean and well-centred within the coin's plain edge. |
