Obverse description Draped bust of a monarch facing right, struck in the style of a regal halfpenny evasion token. The effigy is rendered in low relief with a laurel or plain wreath suggested at the crown of the head, consistent with Georgian regal coinage prototypes. The peripheral legend reads GEORGE· RULES· in Latin script, serving as a deliberate evasion of the royal titulature found on official coinage. The overall die workmanship is typical of the clandestine token trade of the mid-to-late eighteenth century, with a somewhat crude rendering characteristic of evasion pieces.
