| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of King George I facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed curling hair bound with a laurel wreath and ribbon ties falling behind the neck. The truncation of the bust is unadorned. The peripheral Latin legend reads GEORGIUS.DEI.GRATIA.REX., separated by raised dots, running clockwise around the field. The coin exhibits a broad, raised border of fine milling (toothed rim) encircling the design. |
