| Obverse description | The obverse features the second definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, modelled by Arnold Machin, depicting a right-facing crowned bust of the Queen wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail to the hair and drapery at the shoulder.
