| Beschrijving voorzijde | Crowned facing or profile effigy of King Edward VI enclosed within an inner beaded circle, rendered in the crude, hand-struck style typical of mid-Tudor hammered coinage. The king's portrait is executed in low relief with a crown above the head. A circular legend runs around the periphery of the coin, separated from the central device by the beaded border. The overall flan is small and irregular, consistent with the diminutive half-penny denomination of the first coinage period. |
