| Beschrijving voorzijde | Facing crowned bust of Edward I enclosed within a beaded triangle, a characteristic design element of the Irish coinage of this reign. The king's effigy is rendered in a schematic, hieratic style typical of Class I hammered coinage, with a stylised crown surmounting the portrait. The legend is divided into three segments, one along each side of the triangle, reading in uncial Latin script. The entire design is set within the irregular flan characteristic of hand-struck medieval halfpennies. |
