| Beschrijving voorzijde | Facing crowned bust of Edward I rendered in the stylized manner characteristic of late 13th-century English hammered coinage. The king's visage is depicted frontally with a broad, flat face, prominent eyes, and a simple crown surmounting the head, flanked by curling hair or side curls extending to either side. The bust is set within a beaded inner circle, surrounded by the royal legend in Latin uncial characters. The overall die work is typical of the London mint class 3g halfpenny, with the portrait occupying the majority of the coin's small flan. |
