Description de l’avers	Draped bust of a male figure facing left, rendered in the classical style with flowing hair and a laurel wreath, the neck and shoulders covered by a draped garment. The portrait is boldly struck and occupies the majority of the obverse field. Small rosette or floral ornaments appear at intervals around the legend. The circular Latin legend reads AUCTORI: CONNEC:, abbreviating 'Auctoritate Connecticutensis' (By the Authority of Connecticut).

Description du revers	A seated female allegorical figure, representing Liberty, is shown facing left, holding a long staff or cane surmounted by a Phrygian liberty cap in her right hand, and an olive branch in her extended left hand. The figure is rendered in a classical style typical of late 18th-century American colonial coinage. The date 1787 appears within the circular reverse legend INDE. ET LIB., an abbreviation of 'Independentia et Libertas' (Independence and Liberty).
