| Beschrijving keerzijde | A crudely executed Irish harp occupies the central field, rendered with visible strings and decorative scrollwork at the neck and base, imitating the harp motif found on official British halfpenny coinage. The harp is surrounded by a garbled and largely unintelligible legend distributed around the periphery, typical of blacksmith token manufacture where literacy and die-cutting skill were limited. The overall design is a rough imitation of the standard George III halfpenny reverse, with irregular flan shape and uneven strike consistent with primitive local production methods. |
