| Description du revers | A detailed panoramic view of the Dundee Glass Works manufactory occupies the central field, dominated by a large conical glass furnace kiln rising prominently to the right, flanked by ancillary brick buildings and outbuildings of the works complex. The legend GLASS WORKS WEST CONE arcs around the upper periphery, while the exergue bears the inscription WRIGHT DES FOUNDED 1788, attributing the design to the engraver Wright and recording the establishment date of the glassworks. A thin baseline separates the pictorial scene from the exergual text. The engraving is finely executed in the industrial-documentary style typical of Scottish Conder tokens of the 1790s. |
