Obverse description A frontal view of the Dundee Town House, a prominent public building rendered in fine engraved detail, with the date 1797 divided by the central spire of the structure. The legend DUNDEE HALFPENNY arcs above in the upper field, while the exergual inscription TOWN HOUSE FINISHED 1734 appears below a straight baseline, recording the date of the building's completion. The architectural depiction is executed in the precise pictorial style characteristic of late 18th-century Conder tokens.

Reverse description A detailed panoramic view of the Dundee Glass Works manufactory occupies the central field, dominated by a large conical glass furnace kiln rising prominently to the right, flanked by ancillary brick buildings and outbuildings of the works complex. The legend GLASS WORKS WEST CONE arcs around the upper periphery, while the exergue bears the inscription WRIGHT DES FOUNDED 1788, attributing the design to the engraver Wright and recording the establishment date of the glassworks. A thin baseline separates the pictorial scene from the exergual text. The engraving is finely executed in the industrial-documentary style typical of Scottish Conder tokens of the 1790s.
