Obverse description Central shield bearing the quartered arms of Austria-Burgundy-Brabant, surrounded by an ornate cross with trefoil terminals dividing the field into four quarters, each containing a secondary heraldic charge. A small lion rampant appears at the base of the central shield. The whole is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the Latin legend running along the outer circumference in Gothic uncial lettering. The design is characteristic of late 15th-century Burgundian-Netherlandish hammered billon coinage.
