Obverse description Central field dominated by a stylized conch shell (shankha), a sacred Vaishnavite symbol, rendered in relief with characteristic spiral volutes and flanking decorative scrollwork. The conch is surrounded by rows of raised pellets arranged in vertical and diagonal groupings, lending a ceremonial quality to the design. The field exhibits the irregular flan typical of hammered copper coinage of the Travancore kingdom. Malayalam legend reading 'Ara Panam' (Half Panam) encircles the central device.
