Obverse description An elephant depicted in profile walking to the right, rendered in a bold, archaic style characteristic of Mysore copper coinage of the late 18th century. The regnal year in Persian numerals appears above the elephant in the upper field. The flan is irregular and the overall strike is typical of hammered copper issues of Tipu Sultan's reign.
