| 正面描述 | Hammered copper flan of irregular round shape bearing two lines of Arabic calligraphy in the Naskh script, separated by a raised horizontal line across the field. The upper register contains the regal name Aurangzeb and the lower register bears his imperial title Alamgir, both rendered in bold, deeply struck characters typical of Mughal copper coinage. The legends fill the field to the edges with no border, consistent with the rough, hand-struck production technique of the period. The surfaces show characteristic uneven relief and flan irregularities inherent to hammered Mughal dam-series coinage. |

Aurangzeb seized the Mughal throne in 1658 by imprisoning his father Shah Jahan and executing his brothers — the coinage issued in his name that same year marks the opening of a reign that would last 49 years, the longest of any Mughal emperor. His early monetary administration largely preserved the weight and module standards inherited from Shah Jahan, though regional mint compliance was inconsistent throughout the empire's sprawling territories.
