Obverse description Shiva and Parvati seated facing in divine embrace upon a lotus throne, depicted in the characteristic South Indian iconographic style. Shiva, shown with multiple arms, holds the parasu (axe) prominently in his upper right hand, with additional attributes visible in his remaining hands. Parvati is seated to his left, both figures rendered in high relief with elaborate headdresses and jewelled ornamentation. The compact flan and irregular planchet are typical of Vijayanagara hammered gold coinage, with the divine couple filling nearly the entire coin field.
