背面描述 Crowned oval heraldic shield bearing four vertical pales (pallets), representing the Arms of Aragon, centrally positioned in the field. The shield is surmounted by a royal crown. The Latin devotional legend is inscribed between two concentric beaded circles encircling the central device, consistent with the Gothic numismatic style of the Barcelona mint under René of Anjou.

附加信息

René of Anjou's brief hold on Catalonia was purely a function of desperation. The Principality, deep in revolt against John II of Aragon, invited René in 1466 as a rival claimant after their first candidate, Henry IV of Castile, proved useless and was formally deposed by the Catalans themselves. René never controlled much territory beyond Barcelona, and his son John of Calabria died in 1470, fatally undermining the Angevin position. By 1472 the revolt collapsed entirely and Catalonia submitted to John II.

The Pacifico denomination itself was a Catalan creation, introduced during the conflict as a locally sanctioned gold coinage independent of Aragonese authority.
