Obverse description Crowned shield bearing the Three Crowns of Sweden, positioned centrally within a beaded inner circle. The last two digits of the date (99) flank the shield at either side. The peripheral legend in Latin encircles the inner circle and reads REGNI SVECIÆ, denoting the Kingdom of Sweden. The overall style is characteristic of late 16th-century Swedish hammered coinage.
