Reverse description Elaborate floriated cross pattée at center, with a lis terminal at each extremity and small lions and crowns alternating in the four angles formed by the arms of the cross, all enclosed within a tressure of four arcs. A raised ornamental crown appears at the top of the central cross. The entire central device is surrounded by a beaded inner circle, with the circumferential legend in Gothic uncial lettering running along the outer margin: ✠ DOmInE ⁑ nE ⁑ IN ⁑ FVRORE ⁑ TVO ⁑ ARGVAS ⁑ mE, a Psalm verse invoking divine clemency.
