| Descripción del reverso | A floriated cross of Gothic design occupies the centre of the reverse, set within a multilobed tressure formed by cusped arches. Crowned lions passant guardant and fleurs-de-lis alternate in the spandrels between the arms of the cross and the lobes of the inner border, reflecting the heraldic vocabulary of the late medieval Low Countries. The overall design is richly detailed in the hammered style, with fine interior ornament visible within each lobe. The circular Latin legend surrounding the composition includes the date and mint mark, separated by pellets. The Middelburg mint mark (a tower or rook symbol) appears within the legend. |
