| 正面描述 | Central field displays the large fractional numeral '1/2' in bold relief, oriented vertically. To the upper left, the State of Israel menorah emblem appears in fine detail. Below the numeral, the denomination legend reads 'שקל חדש' in Hebrew and 'NEW SHEQEL' in Latin script. The coin's twelve-sided flan is characteristic of the Israeli half-sheqel series, with a milled border framing the design. |

This coin is part of Israel's ongoing "Holyland Sites" bullion series, which began in the 1980s as both a collector program and a soft-power export — pieces were marketed heavily to Jewish diaspora communities and Christian pilgrims abroad, making genuine domestic circulation essentially nonexistent from the outset. The series was administered through the State Medal and Coin section of the Finance Ministry in coordination with the Bank of Israel.
KM#209 is among the lower-mintage entries in the series, though precise figures varied sharply year to year based on foreign order volume rather than domestic monetary demand.
