Obverse description Central field occupied by a multi-line Arabic religious inscription in bold Naskh-Thuluth calligraphy, arranged in horizontal registers. The Shi'a kalima and invocation of the Twelve Imams are rendered in flowing script across the flan. A circular marginal legend encircles the central inscription, also in Arabic script. The entire surface is densely covered with calligraphic text, characteristic of Safavid gold coinage, with no figural imagery. The flan is slightly irregular, consistent with hand-hammered production.
