| 裏面の説明 | The reverse field is fully covered by a multi-line royal titulature inscription in Nasta'liq script, arranged in two registers separated by a horizontal ruled line across the flan. The upper register carries the regnal titles and name of the issuing sovereign, while the lower register records the mint name Qazvin and the AH date 984. The legends are boldly struck, though slightly off-center due to the characteristic irregularity of hammered production, and no decorative motifs or border elements are present. |

Ismail II's reign lasted less than two years — he came to power in 1576 after escaping nearly twenty years of imprisonment ordered by his own father, Tahmasp I, and was dead by November 1577, almost certainly poisoned. During those months he executed most of his male relatives and reversed his predecessor's hardline Twelver Shia policies, briefly flirting with Sunni practice in ways that deeply unsettled the Safavid clerical establishment. Coins struck under him are scarce by any measure; the mints had little time to produce in volume.
