| Obverse description | Crudely hammered silver flan bearing four Chinese characters arranged around a central square motif in the field. The reign title 光緒 (Guangxu) appears flanked by the characters 銀錢 (Silver Coin), all rendered in a bold, somewhat irregular hand-cut style characteristic of the Yarkand provincial mint. The legend occupies the full face of the coin with no inner or outer border, and the flat, uneven surface reflects the primitive striking technique employed at this Central Asian outpost. |
