| Obverse description | Four Chinese characters arranged in a cruciform pattern reading top to bottom, right to left, surrounding a central square void. The characters 光 (Guang) and 緒 (Xu) denote the Guangxu Emperor's reign title, while 銀 (silver) and 錢 (coin) identify the denomination, together reading 'Guangxu silver coin.' The design fills the irregular flan in a bold, hand-engraved style characteristic of Sinkiang provincial coinage of the period. |
